EasternCloud is pleased to announce the successful completion of its first Vision AI proof of concept (POC), marking an important milestone in the company’s ongoing exploration of artificial intelligence for manufacturing quality control.
The project was carried out through a collaborative effort between our development team in China and student intern Kuba Betlinski, who led the initial image annotation process using the CVAT (Computer Vision Annotation Tool) platform. The annotated datasets were then used to train a YOLO-based computer vision model capable of identifying faulty manufacturing components. Following multiple rounds of testing and validation, the team successfully demonstrated the model’s ability to detect targeted defects within the proof-of-concept environment.
This achievement represents an important first step in EasternCloud’s long-term vision of applying AI and computer vision technologies to manufacturing inspection processes. The successful POC provided valuable insights into the practical application of machine learning for defect detection and helped validate the potential of the concept. As a result of these findings, EasternCloud made the decision to continue development as an independent initiative under the Quality-I™ project, while drawing upon the manufacturing expertise and industry knowledge of Liheng Inc. as a strategic partner. We would like to thank Kuba and our technical team for their hard work and dedication in bringing this initial concept to life and establishing the foundation for future innovation.
